Docu-Viewing Station
During the festival, there will be a Viewing Station in the Space04 of the Graz Kunsthaus (with free entry) for the purpose of coming to terms with the "documentary look" installed on television. On six monitors, the DIAGONALE will show chosen television documentaries.
On the weekend the activity in the Viewing Station will intensify, with a video projection and a presentation with experts who will discuss documentary work for television, with a focus on formal aesthetic characteristics and production technique guidelines.
In debate is the question of whether and how greatly television and film documentaries (should) distinguish each other, what the general conditions for the recording of this format are, and how adequate criteria for quality can be defined.
